The signature

A Natural Waterfall up to 15 metres Within the Elephant Sanctuary

Our Chiang Mai elephant sanctuary have a beautiful natural waterfall, providing a peaceful environment where elephants can enjoy clean, fresh water from nature. The waterfall offers a natural source of water for elephants to drink, cool off, and bathe, while creating a refreshing and healthy environment for them to enjoy.

Care, not shows

Nobody rides. Nobody performs.

The herd isn't staged for arrival times. If they're already in the water when you get there, that's where your day starts.

  • No riding, no chains, no hooks. Guests keep the distance the mahouts set.
  • Feeding on the elephants' terms. You bring food to them, not the other way round.
  • One mahout for every elephant. Not one guide watching a line of animals — a person who knows that elephant, with that elephant.

Look at the photograph beside this text: no chairs, no chains, mahouts standing back on the bank. That's the whole claim — and it's a real photo.

La ker por

The Star was born

This male elephant calf named La-ker-por has been special since the day he was born. He was born in the forest on a full moon night, which coincided with a Buddhist Holy Day (the 15th waxing moon) on November 15, 2024—which was also Loy Krathong Day. To add to his uniqueness, for his first three days, he refused to drink both milk and water. The owner had to perform a traditional forgiveness ritual and use pure water infused with gold to wash the mother elephant’s nipples and the calf’s mouth to break the omen. Now, the little elephant is super chubby!

Best experience ever! The landscape is unreal, the activities well organized, It felt traditional, not touristy, away from crowds and we were a small group which made the experience even better. The santuary is 100% ethical. Our guide was the best! Best elephant santuary in Thailand!! Highly recommended

We had such an amazing day! We definitely made the right choice by visiting **La Ker Por Elephant Land**. The experience was unforgettable, especially getting to play with the elephants at the beautiful waterfall inside the sanctuary. We'll definitely be coming back again. Thank you for such wonderful memories! 🐘💚
