Your day, hour by hour
- Overnight Elephant Sanctuary Experience
- Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai and enjoy a scenic drive through the mountains, with a stop at a local market.
- Arrive at a Karen hill tribe village and switch to an off-road vehicle for the final 5 km to our Chiang Mai elephant sanctuary. Change into traditional mahout clothing and meet the elephants.
- Feed the elephants bananas and sugarcane, interact with them under the guidance of a mahout, and walk alongside the herd through the forest and rice fields.
- Take a short hike to a private mountain waterfall. Relax, swim, and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings.
- Enjoy a delicious Thai dinner as the sun sets, then relax and spend the night in our peaceful jungle accommodation, surrounded by nature.
- Morning with the Elephants
- Wake up to the fresh mountain air and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
- Spend some final moments with the elephants, take photos, and say goodbye to your new friends.
- Enjoy a scenic drive back through the mountains and arrive at your hotel around 13:00.

Payment is not required in advance, but if your plans change, we kindly ask that you notify us 2–3 days before your tour date.

Pickup zone: Free pickup and drop-off for hotels within 6 km of Tha Phae Gate, in the centre of Chiang Mai. Staying further out? Send us your hotel name when you book and we will check availability and tell you any extra transport cost before you pay.
Booking cut-off: we take online bookings up to 21:00 the evening before (Chiang Mai time). After that, message us on WhatsApp — we can sometimes still fit you in.
Children: 5–10 pay the child price. Under 5 come free, but still take a seat in the van — please include them when you book.
Please note before you go
- Elephant activities depend on the herd agreeing to them. They roam the sanctuary forest freely and are never forced, so no two days are identical.
- The plan for the day can change with bad weather or anything else outside our control. We will always tell you why.
